20th NEWS! This year was an all time low for the 20th - we did not participate in any of the provincial events and meetings were only done during the first term only. However the silver lining on the cloud is the PC has given us permission to use our D.L Hall again starting next year - so what it means is that the 20th is going OPEN again!  We'd like to wish all our friends a happy festive holiday and we hope for your continued support next year. Good Scouting to all of you!

06/06 Happy birthday to our Akela (in 20th colours) who turned 22 today.
20th News. This term has been awful for the Group. Not a single meeting has been done either with the Troop or Pack. Burdensome economic constraints have forced the leaders to halt meetings for a little while, because most Group activities require financing the leaders are strategizing on how best they can run the Group. The Group is expecting to move back to our Group HQ next term if all goes well. Good Scouting & Good Hunting.

This year it was the first time the Cub Scouts section was introduced. Yesterday the 20th went to the Giant's Playground (Chiremba Balancing Rocks) to have a go on the rocks and to see the great rock formations. These rocks are named seventh in terms of the most beautiful on the planets (www.amazingplanet.com). One of the rock formation is featured on our 2 dollar bill and the other called the flying boat is part of our Mashonaland province badge. We had a combined total of 36 Scouts and Cubs (the whole group). Only one cub scrapped her skin on the rock, a minor injury and they all did enjoy. We also had time to identify a few local trees and saw a very huge nest but we couldn't make out which bird is the resident, that'll remind us to take a bird book next time. Enjoy the pictures below. Akela.

2018 COOKING COMPETITION. The 20th once again entered the annual Cooking comp held at Ruwa Park on Sunday 18 June. There was an attendance of 30 Cubs and Scouts, we entered 10 participating teams, each team in their sections  (eg. Scouts Under 13) had to cook a menu different from the others. Aside from showing their cooking skills, teams had to construct kitchen gadgets using ropes and poles and also how to start, maintain and cook on an open fire. The competition results are not yet announced however the most important thing was to have fun and practice cooking skills which all did. Over 15 teams from around the province also took part, the closing ceremony was graced by the Chief Scout of Zimbabwe,  Mr Morris Moses. A big thank you to all who made this event a success.
